Open Science in Europe

European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)

The European Open Science Cloud was initiated by the European Commission in 2015. Its implementation is a long-term process taking places in several phases.

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) should provide European researchers, innovators, companies and citizens with a federated and open multi-disciplinary environment where they can publish, find and re-use data, tools and services for research, innovation and education.

The EOSC is governed by the EOSC Association–a legal entity that was formed on 29th July 2020 with four founding members and has since grown to over 200 Members and Observers.
