Open Science in Europe

Open Science in Horizon Europe

Horizon Europe (HE) is the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2021 to 2027. It aims to promote visible research impacts in the scientific, technological, economic and social fields. One of the main differences with Horizon 2020 is the adoption of open science as a modus operandi. Open science is embedded throughout the HE programme: it is taken into account in the work programmes, in the evaluation of proposals, in grant agreements, in project implementation and follow-up and in the evaluation of the programme. Mandatory open access to publications and open science principles are applied throughout the programme.

Factsheet: Open Science in Horizon Europe is available in 24 European languages.
